Challenging Behaviour Awareness

Category: Care, Training Courses Matt Kindell 2

Behaviour can be categorised as challenging if it is potentially harmful to their peers and those around them and this can be due to having difficulty expressing frustrations. It is important to recognise this in the workplace and know how to deal with it effectively.

Throughout Yorkshire and surrounding areas we at Safety Training Ltd are working to promote methods of dealing with demanding behaviour through our bespoke course. The duration of our course is approximately three hours, with a maximum group of twelve students, which allows each delegate the opportunity to refine their knowledge in order to become an asset in the workplace. Prior to course commencement, upon request we can tailor our course to make course content more relevant to your workplace and employees.

Our training can take place at your location, alternatively you are welcome to utilise our own training facilities at the Blue Lagoon Diving and Leisure facilities, Spring Lodge Lake, Northfield Lane, Womersley, Yorkshire DN6 9BB

Our Challenging Behaviour Awareness course has been specifically constructed for those operating in the care sector (however, anyone is welcome to attend). It gives attendees the ability to understand how to identify and diffuse difficult and threatening situations involving aggression, intimidation and many other types of challenging behaviour. Our programme also demonstrates to attendees how to successfully identify the factors that may trigger challenging behaviour as well as how to manage challenging situations using simple intervention techniques. We advise that this particular course should be coupled with a physical intervention restraint and breakaway techniques session (however, can be on its own).

Our course outline is as follows, what constitutes challenging conduct, different types of demanding behaviour, what might trigger challenging behaviour, how to handle taxing situations in an appropriate manner efficiently and understanding challenging behaviour.

During our two hour course, delegates are expected to engage and participate in numerous planned group activities. Our highly experienced instructors we be on hand at all times to help guide attendees through these sessions. Upon successful completion attendees with be awarded with a certificate.
